The service of 'HuaDong Rideshare' is currently exclusive to the Hualien and Taitung regions (not including Green Island or Orchid Island).
The moment you arrive at the Taitung or Hualien train station, your journey can continue with us. Travel directly to destinations like Fugang Fishing Port, the East Rift Valley, or other popular attractions along the coast, all without delays or transfers.

Absolutely. HuaDong Rideshare is designed to serve the transportation needs of all travelers in Hualien and Taitung. For a seamless experience, our platform offers a full English interface, accepts international credit cards, and we have English-speaking driver-partners available.
Booking Your Ride
- Bookings must be made for a time at least 90 minutes from the present, and up to 30 days in advance. Any requests outside this window cannot be processed.
- The service operates daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Your booking's departure and arrival times must both fall within this window.
- For official partner events, booking hours may be extended to accommodate the event schedule.
Please follow these steps to secure your booking:
- Register or Sign In: Create an account or log in to the HuaDong Rideshare platform.
- Enter Itinerary: On the homepage, input your desired pickup date and time, or your preferred arrival date and time.
- Select Passengers: Indicate the number of people in your party.
- Set Route: Input your pickup and drop-off locations, then tap "Confirm route" at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose Vehicle: Select your preferred vehicle type.
Complete Payment: Finalize your booking by completing the online payment. Upon completion of your ride, an electronic invoice will be sent to your registered email address.
- After you submit your ride request, we will send you a payment link via LINE (or by email/SMS if the LINE message fails). Your booking is considered confirmed only after payment is successfully completed.
- If you have initiated a ride open to sharing, the system will only begin matching you with other passengers after your payment is finalized.
Once your payment is complete, our system begins matching you with a driver. We will confirm your driver details within 24 hours of your scheduled departure time. When a driver accepts your request:
You will receive a notification via email or SMS containing the driver's name, contact number, and license plate number.
This information will also be accessible at any time under the "My rides" section of the platform.
As our service relies on a network of independent partner drivers, we cannot guarantee that every booking request will be accepted. Driver availability is based on their personal schedules and other factors. If your request is accepted, you will receive a "Booking Successful" notification with the driver and vehicle details.
Please Note:
Our system will send you status updates 24 hours, 1 hour, and 30 minutes before your scheduled departure, asking if you wish to continue waiting or cancel the request.
If a driver cannot be assigned by the time of departure, your booking will be automatically canceled, and you will receive a full refund. The timing of the refund is subject to your financial institution's processing times.

- Location: The requested pickup or drop-off point is outside our designated service areas.

- Please note that driver matching only begins after payment is confirmed.
- Payment was not successfully processed or was not completed within the allotted time.
- Driver Availability
- During periods of high demand, all our partner drivers may be occupied and temporarily unable to accept new requests.
- If you booked a non-shared ride, or if your initiated shared ride has not yet been matched with other passengers, you may cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
- If your ride has already been successfully matched with other passengers, cancellation is not possible through the system. For cancellations due to unavoidable circumstances (force majeure), please contact our customer service via LINE for assistance.
A driver may refuse service for the following reasons:
- Passenger Conduct: The passenger exhibits severe behavioral issues, including safety risks or discrimination (e.g., suspected use of illegal substances, physical altercations with the driver or other passengers).
- Violation of Terms: The passenger violates carrying capacity limits or has selected an incorrect ride option for their needs (e.g., undisclosed large luggage).
- Prohibited Animals: For legal and safety reasons, certain animals, including specially designated dog breeds (e.g., Pit Bull, Tosa, Neapolitan Mastiff) and protected species, are not permitted.
- The transport of pets other than cats and dogs is at the driver's discretion. Drivers reserve the right to refuse any animal they deem unsafe or uncontrollable.
- Intoxication: The passenger is overly intoxicated to the point of being unable to clearly communicate their destination or maintain consciousness.
If a driver refuses service for these reasons, the ride fare will not be refunded.
Your ride may be canceled if external factors prevent the driver from ensuring a safe and comfortable journey:
- Unforeseen Human Factors: In rare cases where a previous passenger has left the vehicle in a state requiring extensive, immediate cleaning (e.g., significant spills, pet accidents, or vomit), the driver may be unable to service the next booking. This is to ensure the vehicle is hygienic and safe for you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In such instances, your ride will be canceled and you will receive a full refund.
- Natural Disasters: If a natural disaster (such as a typhoon) or other major event is occurring or imminent within our service area, your ride may be canceled for safety reasons. When a typhoon warning is issued by the Central Weather Administration, we advise our driver-partners to prioritize their safety and suspend service until the warning is lifted and roads are confirmed to be safe. We appreciate your understanding.
Our booking system allows you to set your location in two ways: (1) by typing in a specific address, or (2) by selecting a point on the map.
If your desired location does not have a formal address, we recommend the following:
- Search the map for a nearby landmark.
- Use two fingers to zoom in on the map and precisely locate your desired pickup/drop-off point.
- Ensure the green pin is placed exactly on your intended location.
Our system will then capture the address or geographic coordinates of the pinned location to complete your booking.

- Click on "Notes" and select the options that correspond to your needs.
Payment
HuaDong Rideshare is a fully cashless platform, accepting payments via major credit cards and various digital wallets. We do not accept cash.
- Accepted Card Networks: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and UnionPay.
- Digital Wallets: Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay.
You will be charged for your ride before departure. After entering your trip details, the system calculates the fare and prompts you to complete the payment with your chosen method to finalize the booking.
Once your payment is successfully processed, you will receive an immediate confirmation notification within our system. A comprehensive electronic invoice will also be delivered to your registered email address.
The most common reasons for a payment failure include insufficient funds, a credit card that has been suspended by your bank, an expired card, a card reported as lost or stolen, or a transaction decline by the card issuer.
Promotional Vouchers & Ride Details
If you hold a promotional voucher, our system will automatically assess your ride details and apply the most advantageous voucher available for your journey.
The final fare displayed will reflect this discount.
You can view all your current vouchers and their expiration dates by tapping the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner of the booking screen and selecting "My Coupons."

Other
You must proactively contact your driver to inform them of a delay. At their discretion, the driver may wait for a grace period of up to 10 minutes. As drivers often have subsequent bookings, waiting beyond this time cannot be guaranteed.
If you fail to arrive for pickup, the ride will be considered forfeited, and the fare will not be refunded.

Upon the completion of your journey, an electronic invoice will be sent to the email address you registered with your account. To ensure successful delivery, we recommend avoiding the use of hotmail accounts.
On the payment page, select the option for a "Three-part Uniform Invoice." Enter your company's name and Tax ID number. The compliant invoice will be emailed to you after the ride is complete.
